How To Use Your Imagination To Create Your Reality

Let’s talk about how to use your imagination to create your reality

Use your imagination to create your reality

What’s real to you? I want to start with this question because it’s easy to look at the things around you and declare them as your reality. It’s easy to take what you’re experiencing and think that “this is all life will ever be”.

You may be in a really challenging predicament right now. Maybe you’re reading this and you’ve been told you will never walk again.

Or maybe you’re in a place of complete doubt thinking that your situation can never change. When you’ve been in survival mode for a long time, it can become difficult to imagine life beyond the pain and hardship.

But with God all things are possible. As you read this post, begin to think about what you would like your reality to be if there were no limitations.

Today we will be talking about how to use your imagination to create your reality.

Are you ready? Let’s geaux!

What Is An Imagination

Your imagination is access to the mind of God because you are the image of God. It’s not by chance that you’re able to think of things as if they were even when they are not.

Your DNA is encoded with the creative power of God and you get to utilize that power through your imagination.

The imagination is the cognitive faculty that forms and manipulates images based on the senses. Another definition says it means to form an image to represent, copy, or imitate.

You are a god; son of the most high God.  It’s important that you realize how special you are.

We were all created through God’s imagination. He spoke to Himself and created us in His own image (Genesis 1:26 NIV).

The imagination has everything to do with what’s housed in the heart (mind) and when you speak you confess what’s real to you.

This is why the Bible says “What goes into someone’s mouth doesn’t defile them, but what comes out of their mouth is what the defiles them” (Matthew 15:11 ESV).

It’s because our mouths speak what our hearts are full of (Matthew 12:34 ESV).

 What Clouds Your Imagination

When man fell from dominion, cloudiness struck all of our imagination.  Man became subject to his physical senses rather than being in tune with his true reality in God.

The imagination became clouded by all of the philosophies of life.  You and I were never supposed to be educated.  Because we were originally created with the mind of Christ; we were supposed to live by revelation.

Think about the trees in the middle of the garden for a second. One was permissible and the other one was prohibited.

The moment when we wanted to know something outside of God, life without God became our reality.

Knowledge of good and evil became real for us and it’s still clouding our imaginations today.

Think about it: What you know produces the choice to go with fear, which creates stress, and the brain tries to keep you from experiencing anything that’s deemed unsafe.

Your brain would rather focus on survival than exploration which is why many imaginations lie dormant.

The good news is that Jesus is the resurrection (John 11:25 NLT).

He is able to resurrect your imagination and restore it to its original state.

Does The Imagination Stop In Childhood

As long as you’re able to think, you’re able to imagine. Imagination doesn’t decline with age.

The only difference between an adult and a child is what they prioritize when it comes to their imagination. An amazing thing about God is that He calls us all His children.

We all have to go back to being childlike because this is how the imagination becomes free again.

Children are dependent, trusting, worry-free, and they have a natural wonder about life.

Could it be that this is one of the purposes for God pouring out his Spirit on All Flesh?

Was He trying to let us know that old men will receive their ability to dream (or imagine) again?

How To Let Your Imagination Create Your Reality

1. Get Clear On What You Want

Habakkuk 2:2-3 MSG-And then God answered: “Write this. Write what you see. Write it out in big block letters so that it can be read on the run. This vision-message is a witness pointing to what’s coming. It aches for the coming, it can hardly wait! And it doesn’t lie. If it seems slow in coming, wait. It’s on its way. It will come right on time.

What is it that you want out of life? Are there things that you’ve always wanted to do, but life got in the way?

Who is the person that God saw before you were in your mother’s womb?

What are the things that she is meant to do and that she is really passionate about?

2. Take Your Dream to God

Ephesians 2:10 NIV-For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.

The reason why you exist is to know, believe, and understand that God is He.

God created you as His masterpiece and had good works planned for you to do long ago.

You may have several different dreams in your heart, but God has the perfect path just for you.

Whatever you desire to do, make sure it’s aligned with His will for your life.

3. Get To Work On The First Step

James 2:26 NLT-Just as the body is dead without breath, so also faith is dead without good works.

Faith without works is dead. In other words, if you’re just dreaming there’s no movement.

You have to give God something to work with.

Just as He multiplied those few fish and five loaves, He wants you to bring Him something to multiply.

Break down your dream into small manageable steps that you can partner with Christ on.

This could look like writing one sentence of your book or even recording a thirty second video.

4. Speak What You Want To See

Genesis 1:6-7a NLT-Then God said, “Let there be a space between the waters, to separate the waters of the heavens from the waters of the earth.” And that is what happened.

When God wanted something to exist, He spoke it up.

We see this in the creation story in Genesis. You and I are no different.

In order for what you want to come to pass, you have to continue to speak it into existence.

Some call it manifestation, but I just call it God’s Way of living.

5. Believe That It’s Yours

Mark 9:23 ESV-And Jesus said to him “‘If you can’! All things are possible for the one who believes.”

Belief is the glue to all of your faith steps.

To make your imagination your reality, you have to live like it already is.

You can easily do this by playing pretend like a child would. Children thrive in pretending even with the bare minimum.

Remember you are a child of God. So if you’re dream is to be debt free, start moving towards that goal.

If your dream is to one day be a world renowned author, write that first award winning sentence.

All things are possible for the one who believes so give God something to work with.

6. Repeat Until Something Happens

Zechariah 4:10 NLT-Do not despise these small beginnings, for the Lord rejoices to see the work begin, to see the plumb line in Zerubbabel’s hand.”

It will take time for your imagination to become a reality.

Don’t get caught up in thinking that things will happen instantaneous.

From experience, I want you to know that the process of becoming will be more sweet than the dream itself.

I say this because when you are focused on God and who He has created you to be, you no longer chase highs.

It becomes an honor to even be in a place to be able to dream.

The fact that you get to partner with God and help others will be enough for you. Everything else will be a bonus.

One more thing. Consistency is important to God.

It’s not about how much you do, but it’s important that you do because progress is better than stagnation.

You can use your imagination to create your reality. Remember all things are possible for the one who believes. It’s time to live it out Bestie!
