Hey Bestie! Let’s talk about spending quality time with yourself.

There are some people who naturally love being alone while others find it challenging. I fall into the category of those who find it challenging, yet I’m alone majority of the time.
I used to think that this was a bad thing, but turns out, it was a God-thing all along.
If you’ve recently found yourself alone or if you’ve been searching for ways to become more comfortable with being alone, this post is for you.
Together we will talk through how to build a good relationship with yourself and that starts by spending quality time with yourself.
This post will be all about how to enjoy spending quality time with yourself.
Are you ready? Let’s geaux!
What Is Considered Quality Time With Yourself
Quality time with yourself is essential to discovering who you really are in Christ.
It’s the time when you learn how to build habits that will support the woman God saw before you were in your mother’s womb.
When you spend time with yourself, you learn how to love yourself God’s Way. I like to think of it like a TV series with a slow start.
Every habit you learn and practice compounds overtime and you discover knowledge about God and yourself along the way.

6 Benefits Of Spending Quality Time With Yourself
I had to learn how to enjoy the alone time with myself. What I discovered was that there are actual benefits to doing so.
Let’s talk about them:
1. Intimacy With God
John 15:4 NLT-Remain in me, and I will remain in you. For a branch cannot produce fruit if it is severed from the vine, and you cannot be fruitful unless you remain in me.
Deep down inside all of us long for some type of closeness. Bestie, do you know why?
It’s because of who we’ve come from. Every single one of us was sent to this Earth by God, for God.
We long for the intimacy we once had with God before the world began and it’s up to us to work to develop it again.
If we’re honest, we try so hard to find intimacy apart from God. But the truth is we will never be able to be fulfilled by anything other than Him.
2. Remembering Who You Are
Ephesians 1:4 NLT-Even before he made the world, God loved us and chose us in Christ to be holy and without fault in his eyes.
Before we came to the Earth, we were already established in Christ. It took me a while to understand this truth because of the conditioning of the world and the opinions of others.
If I could tell you only one thing, I would tell you that you aren’t defined by their words or anything that you’ve done or have.
You matter simply because of whose you are. Bestie, you are a piece of God in the flesh and only He can define you.
Spending quality time with yourself is your chance to rediscover yourself apart from what you’ve learned.
It’s where God whispers facts to remind you of your original self.

3. Thinking For Yourself
Romans 12:2 NLT-Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect.
Thought leaders are formed in isolation. I truly believe that God wants His people to think outside of the box (or should I say outside of the system).
If we are in this world and not of it, then why should we think like the world?
Solitude is the tool God uses to liberate us so that we can think for ourselves. We do this by aligning our thoughts with His.
The best way to stand out in a world full of people who are the same is to stand with God.
His path for you is a unique one and He prepared a position specifically for you.
4. Discovering Your Own Voice
Proverbs 28:1 NIV-The wicked flee through no one pursues, but the righteous are as bold as a lion.
As you spend time with God, you’ll notice that your voice will start to align with His.
Your voice is your ability, your rights, and your true authentic power expressed.
It can only be discovered in Him because your real life is hidden with Christ in God (Colossians 3:3).
5. Gaining Confidence
Hebrews 10:35-36 NIV-So do not throw away your confidence; it will be richly rewarded. You need to persevere so that when you have done the will of God, you will receive what he promised.
Confidence doesn’t come from who you’re around or what you do. Those things are counterfeits.
The truth is that when you’re around the Rock, you gain true confidence. The more time you spend with Him, the more He trains you in discipline.
Discipline is what leads you to confidence.

6. Becoming More Appreciative Of Others
Matthew 22:37-39 NIV-The greatest commandment is to love the Lord, your God, with all your heart, soul, and mind. The second which is equally important is to love your neighbor as yourself.
You know how the Bible says to love your neighbor as you love yourself?
How can we do that if we don’t spend quality time with ourselves?
The key to loving another person is to first love yourself. As you develop self-love, you’ll start to appreciate yourself more.
And once you appreciate yourself, you’ll naturally project that love and appreciation onto others.
