The Pain Of Waiting On God’s Timing

Honestly, waiting on God has to be the most frustrating thing I’ve experienced. There’s nothing like wanting to be all that He’s called you to be and feeling like He’s the main person holding you back.

I can’t tell you how many times I’ve tried to quit, yelled at God, and walked away from Him.

The people leaving, the silent battles no one knows about, and all the hurts faced constantly plague my mind with no sign of relief.

What’s even more frustrating is realizing that I haven’t actually faced the ugliness, but I’ve tried to mask it with other things.

Allowing God to work on you is painful, but it’s the main purpose of the waiting season.

When it’s over, you’ll thank God for the valleys you were in and realize every pain was tagged with purpose.

8 Benefits Of Waiting On God’s Timing

Psalm 82:6 KJV-I have said “Ye are gods; and all of you are children of the most High”.

Do you realize that God chose you to be here on this earth? It’s not by coincidence or accident that you’re here.

God handpicked you to be a god of this realm and designed you to function just like Him.

Because you have been conditioned to think a certain way by the world, God chooses to make you wait in order for you to understand who and what you are.

8 Benefits Of Waiting Upon the Lord:

1. Renewed Strength

Isaiah 40:31 NLT-But those who trust in the Lord will find new strength. They will soar high on wings like eagles. They’ll run and not grow weary. They will walk and not faint.

2. New Mercies

Lamentations 3:22-24 NLT-The faithful love of the Lord never ends! His mercies never cease. Great is his faithfulness; his mercies begin afresh each morning. I say to myself, “The Lord is my inheritance; therefore, I will hope in him!”

3. Hope

Psalm 33:20-21 NLT-We put our hope in the Lord. He is our help and our shield. In him our hearts rejoice, for we trust in his holy name.

4. Advocacy

Exodus 14:14 NLT-The Lord himself will fight for you. Just stay calm.

5. Deliverance

Proverbs 20:22 NLT-Don’t say “I will get even for this wrong.” Wait for the Lord to handle the matter.

6. Patience Is Developed

Galatians 6:9 NLT-So let’s not get tired of doing what is good. At just the right time we will reap a harvest of blessing if we don’t give up.

7. Order Comes To Your Life

1 Timothy 3:5 NLT-For if a man cannot manage his own household, how can he take care of God’s church?

8. Sight Of God’s Goodness

Psalm 27:13-14 NLT-Yet I am confident I will see the Lord’s goodness while I am here in the land of the living. Wait patiently for the Lord. Be brave and courageous. Yes, wait patiently for the Lord.

7 Things To Do While Waiting On God

What the heck are we supposed to do while waiting? Well, I’m glad you asked.

Check out these seven things:

1. Become Present In The Now

Matthew 6:34 NLT-So don’t worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will bring its own worries. Today’s trouble is enough for today.

Wherever you are, God is right there with you. Why are you so worried about tomorrow when you haven’t gotten through today?

Slow down and appreciate where you are. When you worry, you miss God and the goodness He’s trying to show you.

Tip To Be Present In The Now: Start to notice when your mind wanders and bring your focus back to the now.

2. Devote Yourself To Prayer

Psalm 115:16 NLT-The heavens belong to the Lord, but he has given the earth to all humanity.

Prayer is your direct lime to Heaven’s headquarters. The reason why we pray is because God cannot access the Earth without our permission.

God set it up so that human beings (spirits in dirt bodies) have dominion over the Earth.

You may have thought that your prayers didn’t matter, but they are crucial to the survival of humanity and God’s will (See Genesis 18:16-33).

Keep praying, not only for yourself, but for God’s will to be done on the Earth.

Tip To Devote Yourself To Prayer: Remember that your needs are already taken care of. Constantly remind yourself. Stay in constant communication with God.

3. Focus On The Last Thing God Spoke To You

Luke 6:46 NLT-So why do you keep calling me ‘Lord, Lord!’ when you don’t do what I say?

What is the last thing God told you to do? Did you obey Him? Most of the time, we look for God to tell us something new when we haven’t obeyed His last command.

This isn’t how it works and the evidence of this is in our GPS systems. When is the last time you got two directions at once?

God doesn’t tell you to do something just for you to do it. There is purpose in everything He tells you even in the little things.

Tip To Focus On The Last Thing God Spoke: Ask God for a reminder of what He told you so that you can get the instructions that you’re looking for.

4. Learn About The Kingdom Of Heaven

Luke 22:29-30 NLT- And just as my Father has granted me a Kingdom, I now grant you the right to eat and drink at my table in my Kingdom. And you will sit on thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel.

Heaven is a country, but it’s invisible. You may have been taught that you are awaiting to live in Heaven, but the good news is that you can right now!

God calls you a “Citizen of Heaven” (Philippians 3:20 NIV) and He also stated that you do not belong to this world (John 17:16 NLT).

Think about it practically for a second. If you’re from Haiti and you’re visiting the United States, does that mean that you are no longer a citizen of Haiti? No it doesn’t!

Your citizenship is in Haiti so you live by your home country’s culture and customs even while visiting the United States. This is what God intended us to do while on Earth.

We are to live in this world, but live by Heaven’s culture and customs.

Tip To Learn About The Kingdom Of Heaven: Pay close attention to when Jesus says “The kingdom of Heaven is like” in the Gospels.

5. Prepare For Your Blessing

Proverbs 6:6-8 NLT-Take a lesson from the ants, you lazybones. Learn from their ways and become wise! Though they have no prince or governor or ruler to make them work, they labor hard all summer, gathering food for the winter.

What are you doing right now to prepare you for what’s to come?

It’s easy to pray for something without counting the cost of what you’re asking for.

What if you’re not prepared for the weight of your future blessing just yet?

No one ever jumps straight into a concentrative study without mastering the prerequisites.

Your character must be prestige for dealing with the calling on your life.

Tip To Prepare For Your Blessing: Figure out what you want and the steps to get there. Execute what you can because the wait isn’t just waiting on God; He is also waiting on you.

6. Increase In Wisdom And Understanding

Proverbs 4:7-8 NLT-Getting wisdom is the wisest thing you can do! And whatever else you do, develop good judgment. If you prize wisdom, she will make you great. Embrace her, and she will honor you.

Unfortunately, there are lots of scholars, but very few practitioners.

So many people are parroting other’s experiences without putting in any work themselves.

The question is do you want to be another scholar or a practitioner? God didn’t make you to be an exact replica of another creation.

He also didn’t make you to sound like any of them. Wisdom and understanding of what you’re destined to do is crucial to your assignment.

Maybe this the time to focus solely on God, what he’s called you to do, and you.

Tip To Increase Wisdom And Understanding: Read the book of Proverbs and go directly to your Source. You were designed to live by every word from the mouth of the living God.

7. Read Your Bible

2 Timothy 3:16-17 NLT-All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right. God uses it to prepare and equip his people to do every good work.

Your Bible is meant to be the manual you use on Earth. A manual guides you on what to do, what not to do, and how to handle the various products in your possession.

If you want to know who God is, about your home country, what to do, who you are, and what God’s will is then you must read your Bible.

The way you increase in life is through what you know and you have the ultimate advantage based on who you’re getting to know.

Every scripture is inspired by God and useful for teaching. It prepares us to do every good work.

Tip To Read Your Bible: Take it day by day. One scripture at a time. Start with getting to know God’s character.

God is trustworthy. The biggest reason why I know is because everything and I mean everything is trying to prove that He isn’t. Have you ever thought about it that way? How come everything is trying to keep us away from Jesus? The Everyday Trust Fall Mini Bundle was designed for us to take God’s hand everyday and trust that He has us.
