Confidence is in you Bestie, you just have to give it a little boost for it to come out.
This post is all about tips to boost confidence.
Are you ready? Let’s geaux!
What Is Confidence
Isaiah 32:17 NIV-The fruit of that righteousness will be peace; its effect will be quietness and confidence forever.
Confidence is the knowledge and belief that you belong to someone who has you by any means. It’s a trust that compels you to do right because you don’t want to disappoint the One who created you.
You can’t have confidence without anchoring it to someone who will never change or fade. Confidence comes from doing what’s right even when you think no one is looking.
Think about when you’re doing the speed limit, you are confident that you won’t get pulled over. Why? Because you’re doing what’s right.
This brings you peace. When there’s right living, the result is peace and trust forever. Both of these are components of confidence.
The Importance Of Confidence
Confidence helps you to navigate the world you live in. When you know where you’re from, who you are, and what you’re designed to do; life becomes simpler.
When you’re confident, you’re able to face the world head on no matter what conflicts arise. Most people think that confidence is a matter of how you look on the outside, but that’s only a small percentage of overall self-confidence.
To better understand confidence you need to know WHAT you are. You are a spirit, with a soul, that lives inside of a body. You’re not your body or your emotions.
It doesn’t matter what situation or circumstances you came from; the confidence you need was already given to you…it just needs a boost.
But first you need to understand that you’re not from Earth. You were sent to Earth.
You are from a country called Heaven. The reason why you were born is to impact the Earth with your unique expression given to you by your Source.
Without this knowledge, it is impossible to have true confidence.
Where Does Confidence Come From
Genesis 1:26 ESV-God said, “Let us make man in our image, after our likeness. And let them have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the heavens and over the livestock and over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth”.
The simplest answer is that confidence comes from God. You started inside of God before the world began, then He called you out of Himself.
There is no way you can ever be secure and confident in a world where everything is always shifting and changing unless you’re anchored to the Rock.
Your confidence can’t come from external things, it has to come from the God inside of you.
Confidence is not about what you can do, where you’re from on Earth, how much education you have, compliments from others, your body, success, or any other external thing.
Your confidence has to come from the One who started it all which is God. God is the only One who is the same yesterday, today, and forever (Hebrews 13:8 NIV).
Self-confidence is only valid when in connection with your Source. It’s very hard to have confidence in yourself unless you know where you’re from and what you are as far as creation goes.
There’s a huge difference between being confident in something and having confidence. I remember going to school dances where guys rented tuxedos.
They were always confident that the place they rented from would have a nice tux for them to wear, but their confidence didn’t come from the rental place or the tux. Their confidence always came from inside of themselves.
Think about it: If you feel fat, ugly, too skinny, or insecure; no one can boost your confidence until you make up your mind that you look good.
The switch has to be made by you according to the truth about who/what you are and the changes you will make for yourself.
Confidence is something you have in your possession. It’s not tangible, but you received it long before you even knew what it was.
It’s like the unknown feature on your phone. The feature was built into the design, but you have to discover it in order for it to benefit you.

Awakening the confidence inside of you may take some time. There’s so much you’ve gone through so don’t rush this process or beat yourself up if you mess up.

The Bible says that all you have to do is confess with your mouth and believe in your heart that God raised Jesus from the dead and you can be saved. If you want to be saved, repeat this prayer aloud:

To seek the kingdom means is to desire, learn about the country’s culture, and what it means to be a citizen of Heaven. You develop the desire by reading the word of God and practicing what it says to do.
Seeking the Kingdom helps to go back to your original mind.

4. Practice Righteousness
Matthew 5:6 ESV-Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be satisfied.
Righteousness means the right way of living. Did you know that God has a preferred way for you to live that allows you to thrive?
None of us were placed on Earth to experiment in life. We were placed here to infiltrate the world’s system and be apart of the Kingdom’s expansion project.
5. Obey God
John 14:15 NLT-If you love me, obey my commandments.
God doesn’t want to control you. He wants you to obey Him because He knows what’s best for you.
I know you’ve felt like you’ve been told what to do all your life and it just makes you want to rebel. Trust me, I get it.
But God is actually trying to liberate you in ways that only He can. A little trick you can use to help you is to replace the word obey with the word love.
God wants you to love Him and you love Him by obeying Him (John 14:15 NLT).

6. Get Out Of Your Comfort Zone
Matthew 16:24-25 ESV-Then Jesus told his disciples, If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow me. For whoever would save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake will find it.
Stepping out of your comfort zone means to go against the norm and go after your purpose. What does that look like for you?
Let me remind you: If you can think anything, you can do it. It hasn’t crossed your mind, just to stay there. You are a gift to the world and each idea you have is a gift that can be deposited into the world.
It will be scary to step outside of your comfort zone, but that courageous step will boost your confidence!
7. Exercise
1 Corinthians 9:27 ESV-But I discipline my body and keep it under control, lest after preaching to others I myself should be disqualified.
You already know when you look better, you feel better. I know when I personally started to work out, it gave me a different level of confidence. And don’t talk about when I had a new workout set!
Exercising is an amazing way to boost your confidence. Again when you look better, you feel better!
8. Practice Mindfulness
Eckhart Tolle-Wherever you are, be there totally.
Mindfulness is just a practice where you focus in on whatever you’re doing in the moment. Let’s just say you’re washing dishes.
Experiencing mindfulness would be to think about how the water feels on your hands, listening to the sound of scrubbing each dish, and observing how the soap feels between your fingers.
You may be thinking how is practicing mindfulness going to boost my confidence. Mindfulness is a component of self-awareness which in turn encourages your confidence.
9. Challenge Yourself
Romans 12:3 NIV-For by the grace given me I say to every one of you: Do not think of yourself more highly than you ought, but rather think of yourself with sober judgment, in accordance with the faith God has distributed to each of you.
Confidence isn’t only gained by doing things that you already know how to do. It comes when you do something that you’re afraid of or when you try something new.
This is where you are also going to be getting outside of your comfort zone. What is something that God has placed on your heart that you haven’t done out of fear?
Are there any excuses you’ve given God for why you can’t do something that He’s placed on your heart? What are those things?
10. Embrace Your Inner Child
Hebrews 12:13 NIV-“Make level paths for your feet”, so that the lame may not be disabled, but rather healed.
Are you aware that you can mature physically and not mentally? So many of us are still living through the lens of yesterday.
Maybe you were abused and no one ever came to validate that what you went through was wrong. If you’ve ever went through any abuse, then I’m sorry.
Let me tell you that yes, it was wrong. But I also want to tell you that although the abuse was not your fault, it is now your responsibility. You’re now able to respond by way of God’s leading.
To embrace your inner child, you will have to speak to yourself and tell yourself what you needed to hear.
It may be time for you to reparent yourself and pay attention to you, for you.
11. Dress Your Best (Even In The House If You Have To)
Unknown-When you look your best, you feel your best.
Again when you look good, you feel good. Grab that outfit that you’ve been saving in the back of the closet and put it on.
You don’t have to dress up for anyone but yourself. It doesn’t have to be a special occasion for you to put on your best.
You’re the special occasion Bestie!
12. Become Less Available
Ecclesiastes 3:11 NIV-He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in the human heart; yet no one can fathom what God has done from beginning to end.
Most times we can lose ourselves in doing more for others than we do for ourselves. Your time is valuable and everybody is competing for your time if you think about it.
Time is the only currency that you spend that you can’t get back. Why waste it not getting to know yourself as the god you are?
Check out this post on how to stop wasting your time: Here.
13. Identify And Work On Your Weaknesses
2 Corinthians 12:9 NLT-Each time he said, “My grace is all you need. My power works best in weakness,” So now I am glad to boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ can work through me.
What are your weaknesses? Is there anything that you’re easily tempted by? What are the things that hinder your growth?
Identify these things and come up with a plan for improvement.
14. Practice A Craft
1 Thessalonians 4:11-12 NIV-And make it your ambition to lead a quiet life: You should mind your own business and work with your hands, just as we told you, so that your daily life may win the respect of outsiders and so that you will not be dependent on anybody.
Doing things with your hands is a sure fire way to gain confidence. Can you draw? Do you build? Can you play an instrument? Do you write?
Try learning something new to do with your hands. It will definitely boost your confidence.
15. Celebrate The Little Accomplishments
Philippians 1:6 NIV-Being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.
Confidence boosts don’t always come from doing monumental things. Many times, it’s the little accomplishments that make all the difference.
Make sure to always celebrate your accomplishments, even the little ones.
