Hey Bestie! Have you ever felt like you were in a waiting game?
“Trust the wait. Embrace the uncertainty. Enjoy the beauty of becoming.” This quote is one of many that can encourage you to keep going on this journey called life. Perhaps, you’re in a season of waiting and you feel like you’ve been waiting for what seems like forever.
Maybe you are waiting to hear back from a job, for a check to clear, or an answer from God on what to do in life. Whatever you are waiting on, the process can get exhausting, especially since it seems as if you are always waiting on something.
Think about it. You wait in a checkout line, you wait for the traffic light to turn from red to green, you even wait for the pizza delivery guy to drop off your pizza.
If you are constantly waiting, you would think it would get easier right?
You should be used to it but honestly waiting is one of the hardest things to do, especially when it is out of your control. One thing you need to realize in the waiting game is that God doesn’t work in our realm of time.
He works in His timing and that news in itself is frustrating. There are a few ways you can master these tough times more easily and develop more patience along the way while you wait on God to come through.
This post is all about how to master the waiting game.
Are you ready? Let’s geaux!
5 Monumental Tips On How To Master The Waiting Game:
1.Change Your Perspective Of The Waiting Game
2 Corinthians 4:17-18-For our present troubles are small and won’t last very long. Yet they produce for us a glory that vastly outweighs them and will last forever! So we don’t look at the troubles we can see now; rather, we fix our gaze on things that cannot be seen. For the things we see now will soon be gone, but the things we cannot see will last forever.
A gigantic part of getting through any situation in life is the way you look at things. When you look at your season of waiting as negative, it will turn out that way.
The key is to change your mindset. For example instead of thinking “This is taking too long” or “what good will come out of this?”
Try thinking like this: “Even though this may be taking too long, I know God’s timing is perfect and God uses all things for good and this is one of them.
When you start to change your outlook from negative to positive. You can start to enjoy the waiting game and get closer to God in the process.
2. Accept That Maybe You Are Not Ready For What’s To Come
Ecclesiastes 3:1-There is a time for everything and a season for every activity under Heaven.
God is a good Father and any good parent will not give their child something they are not ready for.
Think about it this way: Would you give a two-year-old a knife to cut an apple? No, because the child will hurt themselves with it.
When God blesses you, he knows that you can handle what is given to you. God knows exactly what you need and when you need it.
You must remember that just because you may think you are ready does not always mean you are. Just accept it and trust that God is preparing you for what he is going to give you.
The season you are in currently may be your time to learn and grow while waiting on the blessing to manifest.
3. Know That There Is Purpose In Your Waiting
John 16:12-There is so much more I want to tell you, but you can’t bear it now.
Have you ever thought that maybe God is positioning others so that they can be in the right place at the right time so that both you and they can reap the benefits?
Oftentimes, we do not think about all of the factors that may go into us receiving a blessing. Think about how many hands a dollar touches before it reaches your hand.
The factors behind the scenes of life that you have no idea about are one reason you should trust God. He knows about every detail.
4. Learn About The Kingdom of Heaven
Luke 22:29 And I confer on you a kingdom, just as my Father conferred one on me.
Heaven is a real place as you know. God calls you a “Citizen of Heaven” (Philippians 3:20 NIV). Heaven is a country only it is invisible. You may have been taught that you have to wait to live in Heaven, but you actually can right now!
Think about it practically for a second. If you are from Haiti and you are visiting America, does that mean that you are no longer a citizen of Haiti? No it doesn’t!
Your citizenship is in Haiti so you live by your culture and your customs even while visiting America.
Even though you aren’t in Heaven, your job is to represent your country by getting to know its customs, values, rights, and privileges and living by them.
For too long the church has preached Jesus Christ, but not what Jesus Christ had preached. If you take a look at the gospels (Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John), you see that Jesus preached the same message throughout his time on earth.
If all he preached was the Kingdom, shouldn’t you get to know it and do the same?
5. Practice Self Love
Mark 12:31 The second is this: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no commandment greater than these.
The truth is you may not love yourself as much as you think you do. How often do you get upset at yourself for not being who you thought you should be?
Have you been able to face yourself and the things that have happened in your past? It’s so easy to neglect yourself in a world of needy people.
Before God will ever allow you to reach his people, he will attempt to show you you. You were taught to love your neighbor as yourself, but how can you do that if you don’t truly love yourself?
Bestie, slow down and meet your own needs before trying to meet others needs. You will be able to better help them if you first heIp you.
I believe this year is going to be the year that you learn to trust God in your waiting.
God is doing a new thing that requires you to trust the process that he has already developed in our favor.
