Hey Bestie! Have you ever wanted to reset your life?
Life can be exhausting sometimes, but do you actually think it was meant to be that way? Millions across the world experience burnout simply because they’re experimenting in life instead of living it.
Bestie, as hard as it may be to believe, life is supposed to be simple. God never intended for it to be complicated.
Everything you do should line up with the purpose of your life. The problem is many of us don’t realize or know our purpose. It’s time for you to slow down so that you can reset your life mentally.
Resetting your life mentally is the catalyst to your life reset.
This post is all about habits to reset your life.
Are you ready? Let’s geaux!
How To Reset Yourself Mentally
Are you aware of what you are as a human? Do you understand what a human is? The word human is two words put together; humus and man.
Humus means soil and man means spirit. As a human, you are a spirit in a body made from the soil of the Earth.
You are every bit related to God who is Spirit and to the Earth which is your environment. You’re the perfect creation to thrive in this realm.
The thing that separates you from every other creation is that you don’t have a spirit; you are a spirit! In fact, you are a spirit with a soul inside of a body.
Your soul consists of your mind, will, and emotions. The mind is the battleground of your being. Everything about you and your environment is filtered through your mind’s perception.
Your mind is super important to your being that’s why it should be protected at all times.
To reset yourself mentally, you will have to renew your mind.
13 Habits To Reset Yourself Mentally
1. Develop A Spiritual Practice
Your relationship with God is key to renewing your mind. Without God, there is no you. God created you to partner with him to get the invisible realm to the visible.
Get to know who you are and where you’re from by spending time in the word of God.
Another spiritual practice is breathwork. There’s many tutorials on Youtube like this one I’ve personally tried!
2. Take Some Time To Be Alone
It’s okay if you don’t get to be by yourself for a long time. Five minutes a day is a good start if that’s all you can get. Being alone is a great way to clear your mind and become one with God and yourself.
When is the last time you heard your own conscious in a quiet place?
3. Be Mindful Of What You’re Eating
Do you realize that you eat more than physical food? What you are putting into your mouth is just as important as what you’re watching and who you’re around.
Your physical food needs to be nourishing for your cells. I don’t know if you know it, but food speaks to your brain. Whatever you put into your mouth directly affects your mind and your body.
Think of how the last thing you ate made you feel. Were you tired and lethargic or were you energized and electric?
4. Start Journaling
Journaling is actually a spiritual practice. I wanted to include this one in it’s own section because it definitely is a powerful one. If you don’t have a journal, I suggest that you RUN to the store to get one.
Writing things down in a journal is a beautiful start to manifesting the life you want, keeping track of your answered prayers, reminding yourself of what God has spoken, and so much more!
5. Remain Present In The Moment
When dealing with trauma of any kind, it’s easy for your mind to wander through past experiences. As you reset yourself mentally, you have to do your best to remain in the present moment.
There will be time to deal with what happened in the past, trust me. To remain in the present you can practice mindfulness. One thing that I personally do is ask myself aloud what am I doing. I then answer my own question and this always brings me back to the present moment.
6. Get Your Body Moving
Your spirit, soul, and body are all connected. As said before, your soul is your mind, will, and emotions. When you move your body, it helps you not only physically, but mentally and spiritually as well.
In fact, most people work out for the mental aspect. It’s a great way to reset yourself mentally. Try it for yourself!
7. Pay Attention To Your Thoughts
Your thoughts shape your perception of life. What has your thoughts been lately? Do you notice any reoccurring thoughts? Anything that could hinder your reset? Write the thoughts down and deal with them when you’re ready. It’s no rush.
8. Limit Your Screen Time
Parents everywhere have caught onto the need to reduce their children’s screen time. Why is that? Maybe because they know that too much screen time can negatively impact your mind.
How can you live your life if you’re always in front of a screen? You can start limiting your scree time by taking your phone and putting it away for an hour or two a day.
9. Practice Some Affirmations
Do you know who you are? You are a god; a son of the Most High (Psalm 82:6). Take the word of God and create some affirmations based on the truth of who you are in Christ.
10. Watch What You’re Feeding Yourself
You are a holistic being. What you do physically will always impact you mentally and spiritually. This is probably why God specified our species specific foods in Genesis 1:29 KJV.
11. Talk To A Therapist
Your mental health is extremely important. Sometimes to reset mentally, you have to talk to a mental health care professional that can help you along your journey.
There are many great clinics that you can go to, but if you’re looking for solution focused mental health care then Gentilly Behavior Health is the place for you!
The clinic is based in Louisiana, but virtual counseling sessions are offered for those all around the world.
12. Get In Nature
Did you know that because you are in a body that you closely assimilate with nature? Spending time in nature is another thing that can help you mentally, spiritually, and physically.
It is said that being in nature can improve your mood, reduce feelings of stress and anger, improve your confidence and self esteem, and help you feel more connected.
13. Prayer And Fasting
Prayer along with fasting will definitely reset you mentally. When you fast, you’re willingly abstaining from food for a spiritual purpose.
Your mind becomes a direct pipeline for God to connect with you like never before. There are multiple types of fasts that you can try.
A fast that I would recommend is what’s called the Daniel fast. This is a fast that is typically done in the span of twenty one days eating only fruits and vegetables.
Bestie, you deserve to reset your life mentally.
