Hey Bestie! Let’s discuss how to step out of your comfort zone.
The hard truth is that you have to get out of your comfort zone to grow.
Comfort zones can be pretty dangerous because they prevent you from becoming all that God has called you to be.
Sure, your comfort zone may feel safe, but what happens when God is requiring more of you?
This post will be all about how to step out of your comfort zone.
Are you ready? Let’s Geaux!
Step Out Of Your Comfort Zone Meaning
True living is contrary to your comfort zone. Every dream you’ve ever dreamt, requires you to grab bravery by the hand, and get uncomfortable for a while.
Stepping outside of your comfort zone means to embrace your authentic self in Christ. Are you aware that your potential is limitless?
You were created in the image of God after his likeness (Genesis 1:26 NLT). Everything that’s in God, is in you so if you want to understand your potential, you have to first check your Source.
Fortunately, your Source is limitless and so are you!
Every limitation that you have only exists within the parameters of your mind. The very essence of your being is limitless, but you have to activate this truth with your belief.
Once you take on this truth, you will become uncomfortable in your comfort zone and desire more.
Bestie, you’re so much bigger than what you’re settling for. You will not utter the words “should’ve”, “could’ve”, or “would’ve”.
There’s too many people who have settled for a life of mediocrity and have put a cap on their potential. You won’t be one of them.
Even if you were headed in the direction of mediocrity, you have now found the sign for you to dream again.
What’s Your Source
Your true potential comes from your Source. Nothing created can tell you who you are or what you’re capable of.
In this world, you were taught and conditioned to survive by simply going to school and getting a job.
Some of my Besties have been trained to focus on money and tricked into thinking that the money is their source of happiness.
Let me tell you something. It’s one thing to claim that Christ is your Source, but another thing to actually live it out.
When push comes to shove, many of us would leave Jesus just like the disciples did.
Lucky for us, he will never leave or forsake us (Hebrews 13:5 ESV).
He understands our human nature and chooses to partner with us to strengthen us in him.
The Most Important Goal In Life
The true goal in life is to extract everything you need from your Source which is God. This in itself requires you to get out of your comfort zone.
If you want to know about who you are, get uncomfortable, and look at God. Put everything else in its rightful place as a resource. Again you were not created to survive, but to live.
True living demands that you get out of your comfort zone. Life is not all that you’ve experienced thus far. It’s time for you to go back to your original self.
Staying in your comfort zone puts a cap on your potential and limits God in your life. The moment you let go of comfort, you will start living.
You may not realize it right now, but you need to be exposed to new and challenging things in order to be successful.
This includes learning new ideas and letting go of old beliefs that don’t serve you.
7 Steps To Step Out Of Your Comfort Zone
A comfort zone is not just a physical place. It can also be your mindset.
If you’re ready to take a step out of your comfort zone, take a look at these seven steps that are guaranteed to help you:
1. Learn All About Your Source
God is your Source. A source is the place something or someone comes from or starts at. Everything you are, need, and have is from God.
The reason why you exist is to live through God on earth. God wants you to get to know Him for yourself.
He wants a relationship with you. When you learn about God, you learn about yourself because He is your Source.
You are from the country Heaven where your Source lives. His instruction to you is to seek first the Kingdom of God (the influence of Heaven) and his righteousness (his way of doing things) and all the things you are busting your butt for will be added unto you (Matthew 6:33 NIV).
Bestie, if your Source is telling you to do this then don’t let the world or your feelings convince you to do otherwise.
Learn about your Source and where you originally have come from. Remember what’s inside of him is inside of you.
Your real life is hidden with Christ in God (Colossians 3:3 ESV).
2. Get To Know Yourself Apart From Others
You’re always around people. In fact, you can’t get away from people in this life.
God made you to commune with people and to love them. The problem comes in when it’s out of order.
You are an individual who was created on purpose, with purpose, for a purpose. My question is do you know who you are apart from others?
Majority of what you know is about others because of how you were conditioned. Think about it. In school, you aren’t learning about yourself.
You’re learning ideas and philosophies from people who are no longer on earth.
Do you think that if you were to actually focus on yourself for a change that something would go wrong?
Are you afraid that you’ll miss something if you walked away for a while?
It will be uncomfortable to break away from your family and friends to spend time alone because its not what you’re used to. You need that time alone though.
It’s important that you get to know who you are as an individual because you matter. That’s right, YOU MATTER!
I know sometimes it may not feel like it, but you have to start living by what you know instead of how you feel.
You are not a teacher or a parent or a healthcare worker or a wellness coach or masseuse. Those are things that you practice, not who you are!
You’re a image of God, created after his likeness. Your birth was NOT an accident no matter how you arrived here.
That depression can’t have you. Neither can hopelessness or that doubt.
There’s so much about you that you need to explore. Stop worrying about when they’ll be interested in you and become interested in yourself.
You’re worth knowing Bestie!
3. Stop Waiting For Others
Are you waiting for others to do something? What is it that you’re afraid of? Identify it so that you can face it.
Maybe you’re afraid to go on a trip alone, but you really want to go.
Instead of waiting on others, take the trip alone. Maybe you are waiting to do what God told you to do because you know that you’ll need a team.
Listen, God gave it to you to start now because you and Him are the team.
You will get your team of people at the appointed time, but for now lean into what Holy Spirit is trying to teach you.
He wants to show you how to listen to Him before others come and He is giving you the opportunity to lead as well.
Leadership has nothing to do with people. It has everything to do with your gifting.,

4. Let Go Of Your Pride And Stubbornness
Pride and stubbornness will cause you to be uncomfortable even in your comfort zone. It’s like being lactose intolerant and eating ice cream and cheese.
They’re not supposed to be in your system. You were made to grow by knowledge and wisdom from your spirit.
There’s a lot that you have to unlearn.
Submit to the process by getting rid of that pride and stubbornness with the Lord’s help (Psalm 121:2 ESV).
5. Take Small Steps
Small is not as big as large. As obvious as that statement sounds, many insist on taking big steps while disregarding the small ones.
The truth is that when you take smaller steps, you’re more likely to take larger steps later on.
Don’t think that you have to change your entire life to get out of our comfort zone.
When you go swimming, you always put your toe in the water before you submerge your entire body.
6. Stay Curious About Life
What is life? Only God can define it because He created it.
7. Develop An Expectation
Stepping out of your comfort zone has many benefits. You won’t know them until you actually get the momentum to go after something that causes you to get uncomfortable.
Just like in nature, there will always be seedtime and harvest. Never think that what you’re doing is for nothing.
Stepping outside of your comfort zone is your ticket to true life. When you take a small step, you’re growing into who you always were destined to be.
Your comfort zone will no longer feel comfortable for you because you now understand that you are limitless.
This post was all about how to step out of your comfort zone.
Remember you’re destined to win because he got up!
