Hey Bestie! Wanna know how to become a better person?
Have you ever looked into a mirror and thought “I just want to be better”? Everyone has been there including myself.
What I can say is that becoming a better person is completely up to you. You are in control of your own life and there’s always something that you can do to make an improvement.
Plus you’re never alone. If you feel like you’ve hit rock bottom, then the most amazing news is that you can only go up from here.
Bestie, this year will be one of the best years of your life if you surrender to God’s leadership.
This post will be all about how to become a better person.
Are you ready? Let’s geaux!
How To Become A Better Person Inside And Out
When you drink a bottle of water do you care more about the bottle or its content? If you’re thirsty then I’m sure you care way more about the water than the actual bottle.
This proves that what matters most is what’s on the inside. Even the contents of your body matter more than the outside because the outside is only mirroring what’s going on on the inside.
A healer can look at your exterior and tell you what’s going on in your interior. If you’re having skin problems, something is going on with your gut and your liver.
This is because everything stems from the gut and your skin is an extension of your liver. You get the idea. So the question is how to become better inside and out.
Well from our little spill, you can clearly see that before you can become a better person on the outside you have to become better within.
It all starts within.
7 Ways To Become A Better Person Inside And Out
1. Know Thy Self
Sadly we live in a world where the focus is more about survival than living. We can see this across the world in every sphere of influence and social class.
Until we slow down enough to get to know who we are, we’ll never be able to see the true contents of our being. I know what you’re probably thinking how can I possibly find time to slow down when I have many things to do.
The first thing you can do is figure out where you have little pockets of time and start there. You don’t need a whole lot of time to start. What parts of your day/night do you have to be completely alone?
Is it before you go to work or is it before you go on stage for your show? Do you have a moment after you finish in the car pool line or while you cook dinner or wash the dishes?
There is always a window of opportunity to get to know yourself. Sometimes you will have to make the time by sacrificing another moment like getting up thirty minutes earlier or going to sleep thirty minutes later.
Whatever that pocket of time is take advantage because you deserve to get to know the beautiful creation that you are.
There isn’t anyone that should get to enjoy you more than you. You’re worth knowing.
2. Accept God’s Truth About You
Do you know what the Bible actually is? It’s a memory book about a King, his kingdom, and his royal family. The Bible wouldn’t exist if it wasn’t for your need to remember who you are and whose you are.
The very first thing spoken about you was that you are a god, a lord, and a king. God said it this way “Let us make man in our image after our likeness and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, birds of the sky, livestock, all of the earth, and every creeping crawling thing on the earth (Genesis 1:26 ESV).
In short, you are a god, a lord, and a king just like your Father. There’s so many more truths in the memory book waiting for you to claim, accept, and live through.
3. Let The Truth Dictate How You Live
Since he is God, you are a god. Because he is Lord, you’re a lord. Since he is King…you are a king/queen.
Bestie, you’re the offspring of God. How does God carry himself? This is the answer to how you should carry yourself because you’re a little version of him.
Jesus said you shall know the truth and the truth shall set you free. Why did he say this? Probably because he knew that when were hip to the truth, it’ll be hard for us to want to live in the lies.
Let the truth of what you know become the reality of how you live.
4. Continue To Feed The Inside
Again what matters most is the inside because the outside is only a reflection. Do you know that you’re a spirit just like God?
The only difference is that you live in a body. Your body is your license to be on earth. In order to truly live and become a better person inside and out, you have to feed your true self which is your spirit.
One way to do this by recharging with the truth and spending time with your Source. A practice example of this is your cell phone.
You can use it all day and night only if it’s charged right? When its battery is drained, it calls for you to put it on the charger so that it can recharge.
In this case, you’d be the phone, spending time with God would be the charger, and God would be the outlet you connect to.
5. Stimulate The Mind
This piggybacks on the previous step because your mind is essential to your being. You are a spirit with a soul inside of a body. You’re a trinity just like your Father.
Your soul is your mind, will, and emotions. Your mind can only deliver the order you place on it. My question is what demand have you placed on your mind lately?
Have you been stimulating it or challenging it with anything new or have you been allowing it to be invaded with intrusive thoughts?
Your mind has to be controlled by your spirit until they are one. This is the true meaning of the word holy.
6. Have A Self Care Routine
I want to touch on therapeutic practices really quickly because your emotions play a huge role in becoming a better person.
Do you have someone that you can talk with and help you on your journey? If you don’t then God will allow those people into your life when it’s time.
He may have you in a waiting season so that you can learn to rely on him. Either way, self care is crucial for your mental health.
Take up a spiritual practice like journaling or do what I do sometimes and audio journal. Both can help you get your emotions out in a way that helps you see where you are especially when you’re feeling stuck.
7. Move Your Body
Moving your body is a form of worship. Worshipping is much deeper than singing and lifting your hands.
Worship is all about honoring God with your life. Your body is God’s temple (1 Corinthians 6:19). Temples are beautiful, valued, and sacred.
How are you treating your temple? Are you moving your body?
