Hey Bestie! Let’s talk about confidence building activities!
Do you ever feel like you’re not good enough? Have you been experiencing any intrusive thoughts that are just plain negative?
Building confidence is the key to overcoming these thoughts and releasing your God-given potential.
This post is all about confidence building activities.
Are you ready? Let’s geaux!
What Is Confidence
Before we talk about confidence building activities, we have to discuss what confidence is! Confidence is the awareness of who you are and whose you are.
It’s all about walking in the authenticity of your design; the way God created you to be.
Do you understand that you were pure before coming to this planet? It’s because you came from the Creator.
He is everything that is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self control, and every other good thing you may desire in your lifetime.
You desire these fruit because they’re the true nature of your being. God created you in his image after his likeness (Genesis 1:26 KJV).
This means that God’s characteristics are inside of you.
- God is Spirit so you’re a spirit too.
- He is the Most High God, so you are a god.
- God is King so you’re a king/queen.
- He is Lord so you are a lord.
For far too long, you have been indoctrinated with lower forms of yourself from your environment, education, and employment.
There’s nothing wrong with learning and utilizing the things that have influenced you, but becoming them is another story.
It’s time to strive to be the best version of yourself, for yourself! This is true confidence and that too is inside of you!
It just needs a little boost for it to come out. The confidence building activities are meant to do just that!
6 Confidence Building Activities For Students
Adults and children are all students of life. Many times adults are so caught up in trying to provide for children that they forget that they are God’s children.
No matter how much you grow in age, you will always be a child of God as well as a student of life. I want you to keep that in mind as you read through the many activities in this post.
Some of the confidence building activities below can be used in a classroom setting as well as at home. You can even do some of these activities for yourself or as a random act of kindness.
The choice is yours!
1. Certificate Of Recognition
A certificate of recognition is a good way to show your appreciation to someone which will then boost their confidence. Instead of focusing on a student’s hard work, try to recognize the little things that they do.
It’s not easy showing up and learning things that you know you’re not going to use in your daily life. It’s also not easy to show up early in the morning to a place that you don’t want to go.
Here are some simple reasons to give a certificate of recognition for:
- If the student smiled.
- If the student was kind.
- If the student paid attention.
- If the student was helpful in any way.
- If the student was prepared to learn.
You can get as creative as you would like with your certificates. Just be sure to recognize your students for the little things as well.

2. Prize Box
No matter your age, prizes are always fun. I remember in school my teachers had a literal treasure box full of treats that we loved!
Pay attention to your students. What do they like? It doesn’t have to only be food.
You can fill your prize box with stuffed animals, mystery cards with money, jewelry, pens, bow ties, you name it!
3. Paper Chain Garland
I remember when I was younger and my teachers would use paper chains to track our behavior and participation. The garland started at the ceiling and the goal was for it to reach the floor.
When it hit the floor we would have a party! (We almost always chose to have a pizza party).
Maybe the prize can be a merch giveaway, a field trip, or a gift. To encourage your students, you can try this fun confidence building activity.
4. DIY Free Coupons
Free coupons are fun! Imagine being a student with free passes to do things that you normally wouldn’t be able to do.
Some things you can include are:
- No homework
- Be the teacher for the day
- Sit with a friend
- Show and tell
- Eat a snack in class
- Listen to music

5. Vision Boards
Everyone needs hope in some way, shape, or form. Vision boards provide a sense of hope that get students to envision a beautiful future.
Even if they’re vision boards are filled with hopes for tomorrow or small goals, it will instill confidence in them and put a fire in them to go after the things they’ve envisioned.
6. I AM Affirmations
Affirmations can help students to see themselves more clearly. They create a positive intention and can help them understand their value.
Have the students take their least favorite thing about themselves and flip it into a positive. For example, I’m a C student to I am an honor roll student.

7 Confidence Building Activities For Young Adults
1. Allow Yourself To Live
For many years, you’ve been told what to do by your parents, the school system, jobs, and etc. Now is your time for you to lead your own life and learn (more) about who you are as an individual.
When I say “allow yourself to live”, what I mean is go through life without the pressure of being hard on yourself. Do you realize that when you’re going through anything that it’s your first time experiencing it?
Instead of being so critical of yourself, try to give yourself all the love that you need in that moment. Give yourself grace because you’re experiencing something new.
You don’t have to be perfect or think that your ignorance of something makes you less than. Can I share a secret with you?
Most of the time that critical voice isn’t your own. That voice comes from the conditioning of your environment.
Listen Bestie, you can live. You don’t have to be on edge all the time. When you have a moment when you are overwhelmed, slow down and analyze the situation from a different lens.
{Activity: Grab yourself something as a reminder to slow down and go easy on yourself}.
2. Reverse Negative Self Talk
Do you struggle with negative self talk? Negative self talk starts as a thought in your mind and eventually comes out of your mouth.
Life and death is in the power of your tongue and whichever you choose you’ll experience (). If you’re struggling with negative self talk, the great news is that it can be reversed with practicing kindness to yourself.

Writing a letter to yourself is a great way to rebuild yourself as well. The benefits of this practice are endless.

Your body is not who you are, but it’s an important aspect because it’s your vehicle in this realm. Movement is important to sustain your vehicle.
It doesn’t matter what type of movement you do as long as your body moves. Even if you’re not able to lift weights or walk for long periods of time; you can move some part of your body.
Your exercises don’t have to be complicated to be effective.

6. Positive Affirmations
Affirming yourself is extremely important! What you think about yourself is what matters most.
A good way to create positive affirmations is by taking the word of God and using it as a base for your affirmations. For example, Psalm 139:14 says that you’re fearfully and wonderfully made.
An affirmation using Psalm 139:14 can be: I am fearfully and wonderfully made. It doesn’t have to be complicated.

7. Heal Inwardly
There are so many moments when you may try to run to external factors, not realizing that everything you need is inside of you.
Along your confidence building journey, you must remember that your healing is personal. Your healing will come from you going inwardly.
Even God will lead you to work on yourself because he wants you to understand that you are valuable. He will be there with you every step of the way, but you have to be a willing participate in your own healing.
Your relationship with Christ is a partnership nonetheless. He will assist you, but he won’t do the work for you!
