Hey Bestie! This is a reminder that it’s okay to take a moment to be proud of yourself.
The world is moving at a rapid pace and it may have caused you to think that you have to live a fast life. I’m here to remind you to slow down and think about how far you’ve come. You’re not the same person from last year or two years ago.
This is something to be proud of along with the many things you’ve been able to accomplish. Maybe you just started therapy or maybe you took a step on your wellness journey.
You may have been able to finally have that hard conversation with your family or maybe you went to the gym for the first time in a long time.
Whatever step you’ve taken…no matter how small it may seem…you should celebrate it and be proud of yourself!
This post is all about things to be proud of yourself for.
Are you ready? Let’s geaux!
What Does Being Proud Of Yourself Feel Like
Feeling proud of yourself is not the same as being prideful. It’s also not arrogant or selfish to be proud of yourself.
When you’re proud of yourself, you’re happy that you started or have done something that once seemed impossible. You may be a person who just wants to start/finish something in life for yourself.
Or you may just want to finally become consistent with what’s yours.
As you take steps along your journey, there will be peaks of light coming in that you’ll actually be able to feel. Those are the moments where you’ll be becoming more confident and feeling proud of yourself.
Believe it or not, being proud of yourself actually boosts your confidence because it motivates you to keep going. It also give you a newfound grace for yourself and others.
When you’re proud of yourself, you feel more aligned with the person you were always meant to be. This in itself is something to be proud of. I mean that you are the god of this realm (Psalm 82:6 NIV)!
What Makes You Proud Of Yourself
Even if it’s been a while since you’ve been proud of yourself, I want you to take some time to think about what makes you proud.
Look back over the course of your life and begin to list the things you’re truly proud of. It’s so easy to list the things you’re not proud of, but I want you to highlight the things that you are proud of.
Even if you only have one thing on your list, that’s a beautiful start. So what are the things that you’re proud of so far in your life?
9 Things To Be Proud Of Yourself For
1. You Made It To Another Day
This may seem small to some, but to those who deal with depression and anxiety this is HUGE. Depression is something that can make you feel like you’re in sinking sand.
It’s a dark hole that can feel never ending, but the good news is it does end. Whether you struggle with depression or not, you can be proud of yourself for choosing to live another day.
Thing do and will get better. Trust God and the process he has you on!
2. You Chose To Step Out Of Your Comfort Zone
Stepping outside your comfort zone is a BIG deal!
The true goal in life is to extract everything you need from your Source which is God. This in itself requires you to get out of your comfort zone.
If you want to know about who you are, you’ll need to get uncomfortable, and look at God. This is what you did when you chose to step outside of your comfort zone!
3. You Made The Decision To Let Go
You and I both know that sometimes it’s hard to know when to let go. The decision you made to let go of whatever wasn’t serving you is enough to be proud of.
4. You Started Working On Yourself
Self-love is the best form of love. When you start to work on yourself, you begin to show yourself the love that you truly deserve.
There’s so many times we look outside of ourselves for things that can only come from within. Continue to work on yourself and watch everything else fall in order.
5. You Rededicated Your Life Back To God
You were created to live your life connected to your Source. Just as the plants have to stay connected to the soil, you have to stay connected to God in order to live.
Rededicating your life back to God is one of the best things to be proud of yourself for!
6. You Took Time To Learn A New Skill
Everyone wants to learn new skills, but not everyone is committed to taking the time to do so. You did that! Bestie, you took the time to learn something new! Be proud!
7. You Didn’t Walk Out On Your Children
Parents, I’m sure it’s hard. While I’m not a parent yet, I do understand that raising children is a job in itself. Also, I know that many reading this may have come from a broken home.
Do you realize that you’re breaking generational curses just by being there for your children? You should be proud!
8. You Didn’t Lose Your Temper
Sometimes working with people can be just plain HARD.
Living in this world you don’t really have the option of not dealing with people. People are everywhere and you were created to live and thrive with God and people.
Those difficult people can definitely make you lose your temper, but you were patient with them! Kudos to you!
9. You Survived Your Childhood
Listen, your childhood may not have been the best but you survived! There are things that you’ve been through that others would’ve died in.
God saw you through every single moment and now you’re here! You should be so proud of that!
