Hey Besties! Today I’m going to ask you some confidence questions.
Confidence is knowing whose you are and who you are. It’s all about walking in the authenticity of your design. I’m sure you’ve seen someone walk into a room and command the attention by their mere presence.
It doesn’t matter what type of personality you have, confidence was etched into your DNA. Sometimes it just takes a little boost to get it out, but it’s there!
If you’re ready to birth confidence in whatever you’re doing, I’ve got the perfect set of questions for you.
This post will be all about confidence questions.
Are you ready? Let’s geaux!
Why Is Confidence Important
Confidence. It starts with knowing whose you are and who you are. These factors are the building blocks of confidence.
If you are confidence, you have trust in the One who created you and in turn you begin to trust yourself. Confidence is needed on the journey of life especially when being chosen by God.
The Bible says that God knew you before he formed you in your mother’s womb. He set you apart and appointed you as a prophet to the nations (Jeremiah 1:5 NIV).
He knew you because you came out of him, and he designed you with confidence in your being. The reason why he set you apart is so that you can be one with him. This is what it means to be holy.
The word holy simply means that you are one. Notice the scripture also says that he appointed you as a prophet to the nations. This means that he hand selected you to live in your unique expression while encouraging others to do the same.
To be a prophet means that you’re a person who has the authority to tell what’s to come. You don’t always have to speak when operating in prophecy. Think about the many movies and tv shows who have foretold the future.
Prophecy happens in business, tv/film, education, medicine, and many other ways that allows you to put out a message. But the catch is to remain attached to God in order to prophecy the correct thing.
Also you’re not confined to the four walls of the church. God has called you to positions that only you can fill and it happens throughout the entire world.
Prophecy is not a religious thing. It’s a spiritual gift that you can tap into when prompted. To operate in this gift, you have to be confident in the One who gave you the message.
How To Increase Confidence Level
Your confidence level is determined by the knowledge you have about whose you are and who you are. It isn’t based on the amount of schooling you have, the places you’ve gone, your body, your skillset, or how much money you have.
None of these things should be the foundation of your confidence. If they are tell me what happens if they all fade away? You can lose all your money, your physique, not use any of your degrees, your skill set can be lost, and your traveling can cease.
But your ability to recall whose you are and who you are just won’t fade. No one can ever take this truth away from you and you can literally live off this truth.
5 Steps To Increase Your Confidence Level
1. Acknowledge Where You Are Currently
Where is your confidence today? Are you aware of who you are as a creation? Do you understand how special you are? This Earth was created for you.
God prepared the Earth specifically for your arrival and he rested after you arrived.
2. Identify What Your Confidence Is In
How firm is your foundation? If you were to build a house on which one would outlast the rain? Everything other than God will crumble eventually.
3. Get Planted In God
Getting planted in God is simpler than you may think. When you buy a plant and place it in your garden, all you’re doing is moving it from one place to the other.
Start or continue your relationship with God by simply talking to him and inviting him into your life. Also work up the discipline to read his word.
A great place to start is the Psalms. You start by reading one Psalm at a time.
4. Start Speaking Who He Says You Are
There’s so much said about you Bestie! I don’t know if you understand how loved you are! God has created you in his image after his likeness to have dominion. This means that you’re a little god.
Since he is God, you are a god.
Because he is Lord, you are a lord.
Since he is King, you are a king/queen.
Affirm yourself in his truth about you. His truth is the only truth that will set you free (John 8:32 NIV).
5. Put The Truth Into Action
Once you get the truth, you need to walk in it. This is true confidence! It’s walking in the truth of who you are and whose you are. Get ready to command every room you walk in.
How To Build Confidence At Work
Sometimes your work is the very place that God gets you out of your comfort zone. Have you been wanting to put yourself out there more, but have been shy or afraid? Is there a promise that God has given you, but he has you in a place where you least expected?
If so, then you don’t have to worry because this place of work is your training ground. Your work may be a part of your “waiting season”.
Building your confidence at work is about confronting your fears, leaving your past behind, and challenging your insecurities. It’s about standing up in your true authenticity and knowing you are of value.
Here Are 3 Ways To Build Confidence At Work:
1. Identify What’s Blocking Your Confidence
The first step to building confidence at work is identifying what’s blocking your confidence. As said at the beginning of this post, confidence is already inside of you.
Some potential blockers are:
- Self doubt (Do you doubt yourself or overthink a lot?)
- Feeling unqualified (Sometimes you can feel unqualified and that’s okay. God placed you there for a reason and if the Supreme Being says you’re qualified; try your best to believe him.)
- Perfectionism (Has anyone ever reprimanded you for giving your best and it still wasn’t enough? This is where perfectionism is birth. I want you to know that it’s okay to make mistakes and to learn from others. Also you’re enough, okay?)
- Disengagement (Do you avoid using your gifts at work? If you never use them, you’ll never allow that confidence to come out of you)
- Fear of failure (Being afraid to fail can paralyze you, but do you realize that you’ve technically failed before? I don’t know if you remember your first steps or the many falls in between learning how to walk, but the baby you knew to get back up. Failure is an event, not a person. Every failure is a lesson and a challenge for you to conquer.)
- Bad leadership (Let’s be honest, sometimes the leadership is horrible. If you’re in need to learn how to deal with difficult people, check out this post).
2. Learn, Learn, Learn
Learning is a tool to build confidence. When you know what you’re doing, you become confident in it. The key is to always be a student even if you’re one day the teacher.
3. Practice Self-Care
Self-care isn’t just about bubble baths and exercising. It can also be about dressing your best. How does the person you want to become dress? Step up your wardrobe and put on the clothes that make you feel good.
9 Confidence Questions Every Person Should Be Asking Themselves
Although there are many questions to ask when speaking of confidence, there are nine that just have to be asked. Here are nine confidence questions that every person should be asking themselves:
- What is confidence to me?
- What is causing me not to feel confident?
- Am I holding onto an expectation of confidence based on another person?
- Am I being myself?
- Do I like who I am?
- Has someone made fun of me for walking in my authenticity?
- What is it that I want to build confidence in?
- Do I understand who and what I am as God’s creation?
- Have I gone to God about confidence?
This post was all about confidence questions.
Remember you’re destined to win because He got up!
