Hey Bestie! Today I want to encourage you to renew your mind.
The mind is an incredibly beautiful thing. It holds your consciousness, language, creativity, perception, emotions, dreams, memory, and so much more. Did you know that the mind is separate, but inseparable from the brain?
Your mind is your ability to think, feel, live, and interpret the world around you while your brain is the physical organ that houses your mind.
It’s literally as you would picture a brick house. The house has brick on the outside and walls separating different rooms on the inside. Your mind needs your brain as your spirit needs your body to exist in this earthly realm.
Just as your body supports your spirit; your brain supports your mind.
This post will be all about how to renew your mind.
Are you ready? Let’s geaux!
I once read that when your mind is transformed, your life will be also. This means that what’s on the inside matters the most.
If your internal environment is at a state of homeostasis (balance) then your perception of your external will be also.
Because your mind is so powerful, God wants to reside there.
Have you ever heard the phrase “the mind is the battle field”? The reason is because this is your control center.
Think about it. Whatever you tell yourself, you experience it. If you think something is negative, your perception of it will be negative. The same goes for positive.
But how will you know what’s truly good for you without the renewing of your mind?
Why Is It Important To Renew Your Mind
You are perfect because you came out of God. I know it may be challenging to look at yourself sometimes and think of the word “perfect” to describe yourself. But it’s the TRUTH!
Then God said “Let us make man in our image after our likeness. And let them have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the heavens and over the livestock, and over all the earth and every creeping thing that creeps on the earth (Genesis 1:26).
God created you perfect. There is nothing about you or on you physically that’s out of place or should be enhanced or removed. You are different and you look different for a purpose.
Different doesn’t mean wrong. The word different means not the same as the other or each other. God calls you a peculiar person (1 Peter 2:9 KJV).
The fall of man affected us deeper than we realize. Once man fell, he became subject to his environment. He no longer radiated from the inside out, but he began to look externally for the light that was always within.
He became subject to his body and his soul. If you take a look at the world we live in, almost everything highlights the body and entices the feelings and emotions.
This is not how God intended for you to be. You are spirit with a soul inside of a body.
Your body wasn’t made to lead your spirit and soul. The body is dirt which is why it will return to the Earth once you depart from it.
It’s just your vehicle to navigate this realm so there’s no way you should let it be your main focus. The same goes for your soul (mind, will, and emotions).
Your emotions don’t get to run the show and your will doesn’t always align with God’s.
This is the main reason why your mind needs to be renewed. It’s all to get back to your authenticity (the original design of your creation).
He designed you to be perfect; a spirit, who has a soul…that’s in a body. You were always meant to know that you’re the center of the universe.
The world doesn’t revolve around you; it revolves because of you. This world was created for you. You’re the reason why earth exists!
Think about when a couple is preparing for a baby. They get everything prepared for baby’s arrival right?
It’s the same thing God did for you! He rested once he prepared the earthly realm and after your arrival (Genesis 1).
It’s important to renew your mind to get back to the original mind. The mind that knows Love and is aware of the true reason behind your existence along with everything you can be and do.
What Does It Mean To Renew Your Mind
When God created you, he created you in perfection. You were created in his image after his likeness. This means that he originally gave you his mind.
You now have the opportunity to renew your mind by confessing with your mouth and believing in your heart that God raised Jesus from the dead (Romans 10:9) and allowing Holy Spirit to transform you daily.
But what does it really mean to renew your mind? The word renew is what they call a grammatical construction in linguistics. All this means is that there’s two words put together that can potentially stand on their own.
One definition of the word new is “already existing, but seen, experienced or acquired recently. The prefix “re-” means to go back.
So to renew your mind simply means to go back to the mind that was already in existence, seen, and experienced by God aka God’s mind.
Let’s use our example of the house again because another word for renew is renovation. Think about what happens when someone gets a renovation.
Are they leaving their home and replacing it with a new one or are they taking out the old things and upgrading with new?
When you renew your mind, you’re going through a process that will take time. You’re going back to the original mind, participating in your renovation of all the things that were already yours.
Have you ever thought about what the word reward means?
Should You Renew Your Mind Daily
Being in the world, but not of it alludes to the need to renew your mind daily. You are in a world that has become less and less like your Abba.
The reason why you were sent here is to revive Earth. Earth is your domain to govern because you are god.
Remember everything that God is, you are. Since he is God; you are a god (Psalm 82:6).
If you’re in a world that’s not constantly giving you this truth, then I know ,that you know that you should definitely be renewing your mind daily.
How To Renew Your Mind Daily
God has given you everything you need. All of it is inside of you, but he made sure to give you external things to help you to relearn and remember.
God will always help you, but you also have to do your part.
It’s kind of like a bike. The bicycle has the seat, gears, and wheels but you still have to pedal to get it moving.
Here are some steps to renew your mind daily:
8 Steps To Renew Your Mind Daily
1. Realize And Rehearse Who You Came From
God is your Abba. He is your Source. You come from the infinite, all powerful being that is God.
There’s nothing that’s impossible for you when you’re walking with God. But you have to stay attached to him just like the plants have to stay attached to the depths of the Earth.
Notice when you uproot a plant, it has only but so long to live. If you return it to its proper environment then it will continue to grow, but if you don’t, it’ll die.
2. Recognize And Rehearse Who You Are
Again, you come from the limitless being that is God. You’re a mini version of him. He is the supreme God and he made you to be a god. You are his junior.
3. Do Your Part
No one is coming to save you. Jesus already did that, but even he isn’t gonna come down again or compel others to get you to see yourself.
God and others can give you a mirror, but you’re the only one who can look at it and face yourself. Stop waiting on others to save you because there are moments in life where it will be only you and God.
This journey is about you and him. Your waiting season is God waiting on you to become the version of yourself he knew you would be in that season.
He’s made the first move now it’s your go. Get out of your comfort zone, make/follow the plan, and readjust as you go!
Stay consistent and don’t quit on you!
4. Be Observant Always
If you take a look at the world, you can clearly see that it’s backwards. They say eat fruit and veggies, but turn around and say fruit sugar is too much. Then try and sell us the granulated sugar.
Fruit is actually our species specific food (Genesis 1:29). This is only one example. Pay attention to what God says in his word and the ways of the world because most times you can see a clear distinction.
5. Feed Your Vessel Power
You are spirit, with a soul, inside of a body. You’re a trinity just like your Abba. Go back to God to learn him and in turn learn about yourself. Learning the language of your original home is key to renewing your mind.
The language is in the Bible. The Bible is a memory book that’s about a King, his kingdom, and a royal family which is you and me. Also you will need to make sure you’re feeding your soul and body things of sustenance as well.
Feed your body alkaline food preferably raw fruits and veggies. Everything you put in your physical goes to your brain which affects your mind. Same thing goes for your soul.
What are you doing to care for your soul? Do you have a self care routine?
6. Become A Semipermeable Membrane
In biology, your cells are the focus. You are made up of trillions of cells. Your cells have membranes that only let certain molecules in.
If your cells know to do that on a micro-level then shouldn’t you be doing this on a macro-level as well? Be like your cells and only let things that are helpful to you in.
7. Speak What You Want To See Rather What You Feel
Life and death is in the power of the tongue. And those who love to talk will reap the consequences (Proverbs 18:21). What you say is a reflection of what’s inside of you.
And since you’re a god; you create the world you speak. Your experience is projected or lived through what’s in your mind.
How do you want to live? Speak it. Affirm yourself with affirmations that align with what God says.
What he says and his word are true reality, not the one we physically live in.
8. Flip The Switch On Negative Thoughts
Inside of everything God created, there’s a reflection of light. A negative thought can’t exist without a positive one.
A negative thought is a wicked twist of a positive thought. It’s like you and your shadow. Your shadow isn’t a bad thing, but your shadow can’t exist without you.
Flipping the switch is the way you can turn negative thoughts to positive.
This post was all about how to renew your mind. Remember you’re destined to win because He got up!
