Wanna know how to be positive everyday even when you’re environment isn’t?
A positive environment is a must when learning to thrive in this ever-changing world. Your environment can shape the way you act, think, feel, and grow so you need to become aware of the temperature within it.
It’s easy to think that the external environment must change first, but what about your internal environment? You can always change locations, but you’ll take what’s inside of you wherever you go.
It’s time to learn how to take care of the inner environment so that you can exude positivity even in the worst situations.
Remember, God called you the light of the world (Matthew 5:14-16 NIV) and before you can take on the world, you have to learn to be the light in your current situation.
This post will be all about how to be positive everyday.
Are you ready? Let’s Geaux!
Where Are You
Genesis 3:9 ESV-But the Lord called to the man and said to him, “Where are you?”
When Adam did something that didn’t align with his authentic self, God asked him this question. He wanted Adam to think within himself about what had taken place.
The question was a self-reflection question and I believe God wanted Adam to really identify where he fell short and to come to terms with what had happened. It was almost as if He wanted Adam to recognize that he had given a piece of himself away.
This question wasn’t one of condemnation. It was simply an invitation to sit with the Father and come clean about trading something valuable for something inauthentic.
What about you? Where are you when it comes to being positive? Did you trade the truth of who you are for a lie sold to you by the enemy? Do you really believe that your external environment has more control over your internal environment?
Where is the light that God placed inside of you? Is it shining bright or did you allow discouragement and unbelief to dim it? Where are you in this moment?
Why Be Positive In Life
Would you say that this world is mostly positive or negative? Arguably, most people would deem it as negative being that we glorify things of tragedy more than things to be hopeful for.
If you think about it, the world’s systems are rooted in negativity and emotionalism so it does need to change. What if I told you that the change starts with you because God gifted you into the world for that very reason?
Positivity is deep in your DNA and it’s up to you to contribute your portion to the world or be a follower of negativity. There’s already so much negativity so why not be positive in life?

How To Be Positive Everyday
In no particular order, here are a few ways that you can be positive everyday. Remember each day is an opportunity to shine your light.
9 Ways To Be Positive Everyday
1. Stand Back And Observe
1 Thessalonians 5:20-22 ESV-Do not despise prophecies, but test everything; hold fast to what is good. Abstain from every form of evil.
The purpose of observation is to gather information, process it for a deeper understanding, and carefully discern if you should emulate or avoid those actions at all cost.
To be positive, you have to be willing to really observe the world around you. You have to begin to question and challenge the things you’ve been taught to see what category they fall into.
Sometimes, you may find that most things aren’t exclusively negative or positive, they just aren’t designed for you to partake in and that’s more than okay.
Everything should be observed and tested against God’s word.
Tip To Stand Back And Observe: Really take note of what’s happening in your environment. Is it mostly positive or negative? What are you contributing to it?
2. Call It Like It Is
Ephesians 4:22-24 NIV-You were taught, with regard to your former way of life, to put off your old self, which is being corrupted by its deceitful desires, to be made new in the attitude of your minds; and to put on the new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness.
There’s a clear distinction between light and darkness, good and evil, and negative and positive. It’s just that you’ve allowed yourself to be comfortable with negativity for so long that it’s become the norm.
What if it didn’t have to be though? If you can clearly observe the difference then why not call it out for what it is? In your own life that is.
Let this be a green light to be honest with yourself about what you’ve allowed to slide into your life. Where have you allowed negativity to invade where positivity should be living?
Call it like it is so that you may be an example of what positivity looks like everyday.
Tip To Call It Like It Is: Check in with yourself throughout the day and ask yourself if you’re being positive or negative.
3. Mind Your Walk
Ephesians 4:1 ESV-I therefore, a prisoner for the Lord, urge you to walk in a manner worthy of the calling to which you have been called.
Mind your walk is another way of saying mind your business or focus on your own life. Now this isn’t to say to disregard your moral compass, but it’s a call to avoid trespassing in someone else’s lane.
It’s easy to be caught up in the drama of another person’s life whether that person is close to us, far away, or even fictional. At some point, you have to begin to ask yourself is entertaining this bringing me closer to my goals and what God has called me to do.
If the answer to that question is no, then you have to re-align yourself with what God has placed you on this earth for.
Tip To Mind Your Walk: Stay focused on what God called you to do.
4. Stay True To How He Created You
Colossians 3:3 NIV- You died and your real life is now hidden with Christ in God.
Staying true to how God created you means that you operate in authenticity. Authenticity is living in accordance to how God created you.
In order to do this, you have to understand that only the Creator can define you as His creation. This means that the world can’t tell you who you are and you no longer can follow the blueprint that it has given you.
You have to be diligent about seeking after God because only then will you find your real life. He hid it with Christ inside of Himself and He is waiting for you to come to Him to learn all about who He has created you to be.
Tip To Stay True To How He Created You: Always refer back to His word and check your intentions. Nine times out of ten, you’ll know when you’ve stepped outside of your authenticity.
5. Align Your Life With The Word
Psalm 119:11 BSB-I have hidden your word in my heart so that I might not sin against you.
Lining up your life with the Word doesn’t mean that you’ll do everything right. But it does mean that you’ll be walking in the light of truth and positivity so much that you will know when you’ve missed a step.
God isn’t looking for perfection, He is looking for progression on your journey. When it comes to being positive everyday, the Word of God will help you create the world that God desired for you to live in.
As you line up your life, you’ll see how positivity will take effect and how your faith in God will begin to flourish. You will also find that you trust Him more.
Tip To Align Your Life With The Word: Start with one scripture, meditate on it, and practice doing what it says for a week.
6. Know That It’s Worth It To Be Positive
Proverbs 3:5-6 ESV-Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.
Has being negative been beneficial to you in any way? What about the negativity in your environment? Has it impacted you in a healthy way?
I imagine that the answer is no and let me tell you: I AGREE! Plus being positive can help you get closer to your Father and impact your health in a substantial way.
Tip To Know That It’s Worth Being Positive: Ask yourself if you want to spend your life in negativity.
7. Focus On The Fruit
James 1:2-4 ESV-Count it all joy, my brothers, when you meet trials of various kinds, for you know that the testing of your faith produces steadfastness. And let steadfastness have its full effect, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing.
Whatever you give your attention and energy to will be amplified in your life. If you focus on the negativity in your environment, then that is all you’ll be able to see.
Instead of focusing on how you want to get out of that environment, try to focus on the fruit you’re developing and what God could be trying to teach you.
8. Spin The Narrative
Philippians 1:17-18 NIV-The former preach Christ out of selfish ambition, not sincerely, supposing that they can stir up trouble for me while I am in chains. But what does it matter? The important thing is that in every way, whether from false motives or true, Christ is preached. And because of this I rejoice.
How can you draw the positive out of what’s negative? It could’ve been looked at as a negative that Jesus was born in a manger, but anytime you feel that there’s no where for you to go, you can relate to His story.
What other narratives can you spin from your own environment?
Tip To Spend The Narrative: Take a situation that seemed negative and ask God to help you to draw the positives out of it.
9. Create A Positivity Script
Psalm 33:9 NIV-For he spoke, and it came to be; he commanded, and it stood firm.
You may not have control over where you are, but you have complete control over what you say. If you struggle with finding positive words to say in any moment, a positivity script can work for you.
Creating a script can be you writing out something positive to say each morning or even for the moments you’re triggered. What will you put on your positivity script?
Tip To Create A Positivity Script: Start with a scripture, write it, and recite it.
