Let’s talk about 10 reasons to trust God.
It can be scary to trust God, but has not trusting Him gotten you anywhere? This is what I had to ask myself as I contemplated change.
I ran from God for a long time, but now by faith, I can say that I trust Him. And by faith, I want you to say the same.
My heart behind this post is to remind you that God is still trustworthy. Take these words and think about them as you begin to trust God completely.
This post is all about 10 reasons to trust God.
Are you ready? Let’s geaux!
10 Reasons To Trust God
Let’s get right into the reasons that you can trust God:
1. God Is The Alpha And Omega
Revelation 1:8 ESV- “I am the Alpha and the Omega,” says the Lord God, “who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty.”
Everything seen and unseen started in God. He is the beginning, the end, and all that lies in between. What’s amazing about this is that God wanted you to know Him as the person who has everything under control.
In our lives, we can easily get worked up behind our troubles. God is so tremendously immense that troubles are tiny compared to Him.
There is no pain that can outlast Him or tear that you’ve cried that He hasn’t seen. He effortlessly sees your life from beginning to end and He is walking with you even now.
You matter so much to God which is why He gave you this description of Himself. He wants you to know where you can put your trust.
Reflection Question: Is there any trouble, adversity, or hardship that you deem huge? Compare it to the God who is Alpha and Omega.
2. God Chose To Create You
Genesis 1:31 NKJV-Then God saw everything that He had made, and indeed it was very good. So the evening and the morning were the sixth day.
Everything was only good up until God created you. Once you were created, He was able to say that all that He made was “very good”.
This means that God takes pleasure in you. He chose to create you because you’re beyond special to Him. Nothing in this life can ever take that truth away from you.
Reflection Question: Is there anything stopping you from believing that you’re special to God? What is it?
3. You Were Created In His Image
Genesis 1:26 NIV-Then God said, “Let us make mankind in our image, in our likeness, so that they may rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky, over the livestock and all the wild animals, and over all the creatures that move along the ground.”
Since you were created in the image and after the likeness of God, that means that you have His nature. It means that you’re also a god!
God wanted you to be just like Him so much that He took a piece of Himself and formed you. If you check the creation story, everything that was created has an origin based on temporary things.
You’re the exception because you come from the One who is eternal.
Reflection Question: How do you feel about this truth?

4. God Knows You And What You’ve Been Through
Psalm 139:2 ESV-You know when I sit down and when I rise up; you discern my thoughts from afar.
There’s nothing that you’ve been through that God hasn’t been a part of. You may feel angry or sad thinking about this at first because you may question why God didn’t stop the bad things from happening.
In this life, we are going to face lots of hardship unfortunately. The good news is that God is with us every step of the way and He uses everything for good.
The things you’ve been through may have been dark, but there was and is light in Him. He knows you have questions and He invites you to ask them.
Reflection Question: Have you resented God for what has happened to you?
5. God Exchanges Your Bad For His Good
Isaiah 61:3 KJV-To appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give unto them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the Lord, that he might be glorified.
There are many adversities that we go through in life. From the death of a family member to betrayals in friendship, life has a way of bringing on the difficulties.
Instead of allowing us to face adversities alone, God promised that He’ll always be there. He even goes a step further to promise you that He will give you beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, and the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness.
It’s all for the purpose of you becoming as strong as a tree in righteousness because He has planted you for His glory.
Reflection Question: When you face difficulties in life, what do you turn to?
6. God Will Never Leave Or Forsake You
Joshua 1:9 ESV-Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the LORD your God is with you wherever you go.”
Have you ever wanted someone to walk through life with you? It’s really interesting how people leave when it seems like you’re going through the worst parts of your life.
Lucky for you and I, God promises that He will never leave or forsake us. If you’ve ever wished you had someone to walk with you through life’s ups and downs, you can now rest in the knowledge that God is always with you!
Reflection Question: Do you have a fear of God leaving you? Does it stem from people abandoning you when you needed them the most?
7. He Promises To Guide You
Exodus 13:21 ESV-And the LORD went before them by day in a pillar of cloud to lead them along the way, and by night in a pillar of fire to give them light, that they might travel by day and by night.
The children of Israel were enslaved for over four hundred years. God arranged for them to be delivered and set free and He chose to personally guide them to the promised land.
There are things that you may be in bondage to and He wants to set you free as well. As you begin to walk in the path of freedom, God is committed to guide you in a unique way just as He did for the children of Israel.
Reflection Question: When will you trust God to guide your steps?
8. God Doesn’t Change
Hebrews 13:8 KJV-Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever.
The promises in the Bible are yours as long as you believe them. The methods that God uses may change, but the promises remain the same.
What you can count on is God’s consistency in character. He doesn’t change and honestly we all need that stability in our lives.
Reflection Question: Do you believe that God is consistent? If not, what can you do to believe this truth?
9. He Stepped Into Creation For You
Hebrews 4:15 NASB-For we do not have a high priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but One who has been tempted in all things just as we are, yet without sin.
You can trust in God because He knows exactly what you’re going through in every situation. No matter how close you get to someone in this life, they will never be able to know exactly how you feel.
Jesus has gone through everything for you because He wanted you to depend on Him to get through life’s most challenging circumstances.
He didn’t have to step into creation for us, but He chose to so that we may one day trust Him.
Reflection Question: When is the last time you sought God’s word for your situation?
10. God Will Always Keep His Promises
Psalm 145:13 NIV-Your kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and your dominion endures through all generations. The Lord is trustworthy in all he promises and faithful in all he does.
God will always keep His promises to you. If He said it, then you can guarantee that it’s done. The thing about God is that He took out an oath and bound Himself to His word to ensure that He’ll keep His promises to you.
You never have to worry about God breaking a promise!
Reflection Question: Has anyone ever broken a promise to you? How did that make you feel?
Everything you’ll ever need is with Christ in God. You can trust God because He is the One who created you to dwell with Him and even after we fell short, He sent His Son to restore us. I hope that you found that you can trust God through these 10 reasons. Feel free to comment which reason stood out the most to you.
